The application for Fellow Membership of the Sri Lanka Council of Archaeologists can be downloaded from this web page. Accordingly, the membership application should be obtained from the web page and handed over to the council office located in the Department of Archeology weekly after completion. The office will affix the official stamp and date to the application when accepting it.
The usual procedure for awarding membership is to offer membership at the Annual General Meeting. Please note that the closing date for applications for the Fellow Membership of the Council of Archaeologists to avoid difficulties in holding the Annual General Meeting is January 15 of that year (as the Annual General Meeting should be held before the end of March).

(a) A postgraduate degree in archaeology from a recognized university or institute and two years of membership. Experience may be obtained before or after the acquisition of the postgraduate degree.

(a) A special degree in Archaeology and five years’ service as a registered member

(b) A Postgraduate Degree in Archaeology

(c) A pass in the professional examination conducted by the Sri Lanka Council of Archaeologists.

(b) Ten years experience at a professional or technical level in a suitable state or private institute under the
supervision of a Fellow Member or a Member.
(a) Admission for a special Degree Course in Archaeology or a general degree course with Archaeology as a
subject
